Grow. Grow. Grow

I grew up going to Sunday School for most of my childhood. Before our lesson we would sing songs, many of them had motions to go with the words. One of the songs we sang frequently we would start crouched down as close to the ground as we could be and then start singing,

Read your Bible, pray every day!

Pray every day! Pray every day!

And you’ll grow. grow. grow.

And you’ll grow. grow. grow.

And you’ll grow. grow. grow.

As we sang we would slowly start to get taller and taller until we were standing on our tippy toes and reaching our hands as far above our heads as we could. That simple song went through my head this morning as I was reading my bible. Hosea 10:12 God is calling for Israel to repent from the way they were living and to seek God again.

“Plant the good seeds of righteousness, and you will harvest a crop of love. Plow up the hard ground of your hears, for now is the time to seek the Lord, that he may come and shower righteousness upon you.”  Hosea 10:12

IMG_6439God may have been speaking to Israel back then, but this morning he was speaking to me. My heart surely needed softening. I have let my Bible reading and prayer life slack and as result I have not been a very cheerful person to be around. I have been allowing fears, disappointments and little sleep as an excuse to be a grumpy mama bear.  Thank God for his grace and forgiveness and for my patient husband. So I will choose to plant the good seeds of righteousness today and I trust if I keep reading my Bible and pray every day I will continue to grow, grow, grow. -Robbie
